2019 Riesling Loved By Lu

Riesling Loved By Lu is Sue-Ann's homage to her beloved mentor and grandmother, Lula Staff. When Sue-Ann became a winemaker, her grandmother Lu would always say “I love your Riesling”, so Sue-Ann named this light-hearted, vibrant semi-dry Riesling after her. Enjoy with appetizers, salads, light meals or on its own … just like Lu did.

Riesling Loved By Lu is a fresh, semi-dry and balanced Riesling, vinified from 100% estate grown fruit and cool fermented in stainless steel over 3 weeks with selected yeast. Our Riesling vineyard is located in the 20 Mile Bench sub-appellation, on top of the Niagara Escarpment. The vines are grown on thin clay soils with escarpment limestone beneath. 

Loved By Lu is a lovely example of Ontario Riesling, perfectly balanced between sweet and tart. Fruit-forward and friendly, with bright suggestions of fresh green apple and citrus zest and perhaps a hint of grilled pineapple. Sensational with Asian cuisine, roast pork/poultry, seared salmon and soft cheeses.
