Tasting Notes:

An elegant Bordeaux style red for everyday enjoyment.  The focused fruit-driven nose is reminiscent of black currant, liquorice and mulling and cinnamon spices while underlying tones of leather, a wintery meat stew and juniper add complexity.  The elegant, dry, gripping palate gets more intense and alluring as you sip it.  Very approachable with a pleasant round finish.  Perfect with elegant red meats, poultry and pasta with rosé sauces, eggplant parmesan and more!

Enjoy with the most flamboyant of meals and the simplest of cuisine.

87 points: " This is a well-aged blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot from the cooler 2013 vintage. It shows bright red berries, cassis, tangy raspberry and light spice notes on the nose. It turns rich and savoury on the palate and shows nicely aged dark fruits, decent spice and soft tannins. Ready to drink right now."

86 points: "An approachable and accessibly priced Cab Sauv dominant Niagara blend. Fruit forward with red berries, plum on the palate. Medium acidity, medium minus tannins. Pairs well with BBQ chicken wings"
Louise Boutin, winecurrent.ca
83 points: This Bordeaux blend—45% cabernet sauvignon, 40% cabernet franc, 15% merlot—matured in French and American oak for six months. It displays a rich bouquet—black cherry, raspberry, green pepper, cedar and sweet smoke. The palate replays black cherry in a sweet, candied version along with tart raspberry and ripe blackberry leading to a chalky/mineral finish. It’s ready to drink now and pairs well with roast turkey and cranberry jelly.

Frank Baldock, Franks Wine Express Flamboyant Red 2013 is a hearty Cab-Merlot Bordeaux style for everyday enjoyment, especially with casual BBQ fare, pizza, pasta, parmesan, and plump rare burgers, stews and ribs! Big fruitiness and a hint of new leather and black licorice.
