MUDDY PAWS WINE TRAIL

When: June 14 & 15, 2025, 12 noon to 5 pm

Where: Sue-Ann Staff Estate Winery, Westcott Vineyards, Featherstone Estate Winery

What:  Muddy Paws is back! Featherstone Estate Winery, Sue-Ann Staff Estate Winery and Westcott Vineyards are collaborating once again for the ultimate canines n’ wines event! 

 

At each winery, the ticket holder is entitled to:

  • Bring their dog(s) to the participating wineries’ property to enjoy live music (1pm-4pm), a wine and food pairing for a human and treats for the doggies.

  • Each winery will have designated doggie areas and activities, including trail walks and puppy games. 

  • A costume contest, pet photography in Featherstone Estate Winery's Barrel Room, local pet vendors and more.

A portion of ticket sales supports the Bello Project. Tickets are final sale and the Wine Trail will happen rain or shine. Please note, dogs of all sizes and ages are welcome.  Dogs must be healthy and friendly with all other people and dogs. What:  An incredible, dynamic gathering of winemakers and wines for one truly amazing wine tasting experience. Welcome to the 3rd Pan-Canadian Wine Masterclass hosted by Carl & Mira Boucher of Carl's Wine Club here at Sue-Ann Staff Estate Winery. Guests will taste wines from 13 wine regions across Canada, presented by the winemakers themselves. Enjoy the winemakers' stories about what goes in your glass while you are tasting. It's a unique opportunity to explore great Canadian wines right here at home in Niagara.

THE BERNER BBQ

What:  Calling all dogs! Especially Berners! It's Sue-Ann's 4th Annual BERNER BBQ! Bring your dog to the winery for an afternoon of wines 'n canines. Enjoy our wines by the glass while making new friends with other dog & wine folks! There will be live entertainment, and we'll have a food truck on site to keep you well-snacked. More details to come!

Niagara Wine Festival Icewine Discovery Pass at Sue-Ann Staff Estate Winery

As you know, Sue-Ann loves everything about Icewine and working with chefs to dream up new food pairings for this liquid gold is second nature to her. This year's collaboration with August Restaurant for the Niagara Wine Festival Icewine Discovery Pass is no exception -- a silky, savoury and spectacular sweet potato parfait that pairs perfectly with our 2016 Howard's Icewine Vidal! Sweet Potato Parfait with Icewine Cured Smoked Salmon


Prepared by:  August Restaurant, Beamsville, ON

Description: The “Sweet Potato Mousse” started with sweet potatoes that were oven roasted in their skins.  When well cooked, they were removed from the skin, pureed into a mousse sweetened with an Icewine reduction, seasoned with salt and pepper then blended with cream cheese.

The “Mushroom Salad” is layered between the sweet potato prepared by pan roasting local shitake and white mushrooms in butter then seasoning with cider vinegar, EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) and salt and pepper.

Instead of a “cherry on top” of the parfait, you’ll find a cube of “Icewine Candied Salmon”.  Sustainable farm raised Atlantic salmon was cured overnight in Icewine and honey then hot smoked with sugar maple wood for 7 to 8 hours.  Continuous basting with Icewine intensified the sweetness and creates a candied crust.

The parfait is topped with a sprig of ruby red radish sprouts which adds the tiniest crunch and spice element.

Layered like an ice-cream parfait, this sweet potato parfait with “a cherry” of icewine cured salmon is something you’ll want to use as inspiration as you discover new ways to enjoy Mother Nature’s Gift to Wine Lovers … Canadian Icewine.

This offering is gluten free, vegetarian and has no nuts / nut oils.
Only the mushroom layer is vegan friendly.
